Mourning Summit Grief Hikes
Hikes are open, inclusive and free for all humans 18+, experiencing any type of grief. Hikes are typically moderately challenging and 5 miles max. All paces are welcome. In fact, we encourage folks to take these hikes a little slower than usual - they are not a race or a workout! They are meant for meaningful reflection.
Hikes include free talk time as well as silent reflection time during the journey itself. At the summit or following the hike, we may engage in writing reflections or quiet reflection time. We may also engage in projects such as constructing morning alters or grief cairns.

Welcome to our grief community! We are Krista and Kathy, a pair of besties who love to hike and over the years found nature to be a wonderful healing tool for grief.
We started Mourning Summit to hike with like-minded folks in New England who are experiencing grief and look to nature to help process their grief journey.
Krista lost her husband in 2022, and Kathy lost her grandmother in 2013 and father in 2022. We’ve also both lost pets and dealt with many other types of losses along the way.
Kathy is a Social Worker and Krista is a Certified Grief Support Specialist.
